ASGARD

There are presently no open calls for submissions.

SUBMISSION INFORMATION

Submissions are open only to current students at the Appomattox Regional Governor's School for the Arts and Technology.

The editorial staff strongly recommends that students review a copy of ASGARD (available from Ms. Giewont for $20 -- older copies are less expensive) to get a sense of what we're looking for.

We encourage submissions of art, music, and writing from any focus area as long as they do not contain graphic violence or sexual content; because of VHSL guidelines, we generally cannot publish anything beyond very mild cursing and swearing.

Please make sure that your piece and the name of the file you upload match.

ANONYMITY POLICY

Your real name must be used to create your account on Submittable but should NOT appear on the submission files that you upload--even in the title of the document you upload. If your name is included in the name of the file, we will be able to see who you are.

Works of creative nonfiction should use a pseudonym for the initial reading process.

ASGARD evaluates submissions anonymously. Work on which names appear will be REJECTED.

COVER LETTERS

For the cover letter, please write, at a minimum, your grade and focus area at ARGS. If you have any prior publications or interesting biographical facts, please include those as well.
Cover letters will not affect your chance of acceptance, but they will be used in the magazine's contributors' notes. Please keep them professional (although they can be both professional and humorous).
